Stochastic control problems with state-reflections arising from relaxed benchmark tracking
This paper studies stochastic control problems motivated by optimal consumption with wealth benchmark tracking. The benchmark process is modeled by a combination of a geometric Brownian motion and a running maximum process, indicating its increasing trend in the long run. I'm particularly interested in trying to understand whether it's just a case of "any interaction/bridge is bad" or if there are certain aspects of bridging that are considered more/less harmful/problematic.
I'd also love to understand why Bluesky is materially different from interconnectivity between Fedi software (Lemmy, PeerTube, Masto, etc.) or even between Mastodon servers. There's a definite argument around surveillance capitalism, but beyond that (or is that reason enough?)?
